The first day of Spring is next week! Does it feel like spring where you are? Here in South Carolina we are finally getting some warm weather, but the pollen has kicked up. It’s like it is raining yellow!

However with the arrival of spring and warmer weather, our students tend to get more bouncy as they wake up from their winter hibernation. To keep that in check, so students can focus on the important task of learning, students need a few brain breaks built in to their day. Movement not only gets the wiggles out, but increases brain power. The CDC says, “Physical activity can help you think, learn, problem-solve, and enjoy an emotional balance.”

Easter this year is on March 31, which makes now the perfect time to break out with some new songs to dance to. While GoNoodle is amazing, sometimes you and your students need a switch-up. You can only make a purple stew so many times. Here are 10 that my students have always asked me to play more than once!

1. The Easter Bunny Dance for Kids by Miss Linky-This is by far the favorite of them all! That is why I have posted it first.

2. Easter Bunny Dance (Freeze Dance) by Miss Linky-This one was not around when I taught kindergarten. It is the same as #1, except for that it adds how to do the dance moves and adds a freeze dance element to it.

3. Springtime Dance by Jack Hartmann-A fun song for the first day of spring or any day of spring!

4. B-U-N-N-Y by The Kiboomers-This is a great one for teaching kids how to spell bunny. It goes to the tune of “Bingo.”

5. Boom Chicka Boom (Easter Edition) by The Learning Station-Who doesn’t enjoy a little “Boom Chicka Boom” with an Easter twist?

6. The Bunny Hokey Pokey by The Kiboomers- Another take on a traditional song. Great for teaching the difference between left and right. Don’t forget to do the opposite if you are modeling for students.

7. Easter Egg Battle by Coach Corey Martin-Students love the videos from Coach Corey Martin! Students get to throw eggs, dodge eggs, and do exercises to show which Easter egg they like best.

8. The Bunny Goes Hop! (Easter Pattern Song) by Harry Kindergarten-This is a fun one to either introduce patterns or review patterns with your class depending upon where you are at in your math curriculum.

9. Peter Cottontail and The Tickly Monkeys by Cosmic Kids Yoga-This is a bit long for one brain break, but could be broken into chunks or done during indoor recess.

10. Easter Bunny Dance & Freeze by Jack Hartmann-Every year my students are fans of “freeze” songs, so here is another one for yours to enjoy!

I hope this post will save you some time and your students find these Easter Brain Breaks repeat-worthy! If you liked these, be sure to check out my other brain break posts for holidays! You can find them all here.
