When dressing for school, shoes may be one of the most important pieces of our ensemble. Whether you are a shoe person, or not (like me), the shoes you wear can make or break your day. We need shoes that look professional, go with multiple outfits, and are super-comfy. Teachers are on their feet a lot of the day, and without the right shoes you will be in pain before the day is over.
A couple of huge DON’Ts when it comes to shoes for school. DON’T wear heels! That may be self-explanatory, but I have seen substitutes do it in our building. And you can tell they haven’t been doing it long, or they would not have selected heels. DON’T wear shoes without a back strap, unless you are sure you won’t be going after any runners.
Not only do we want to keep all of the above in mind, we, also, need shoes at a cost-efficient price. That’s why I’m going to share with you the most comfiest brands of shoes for teachers on a budget!
1. Skechers
Skechers are, I’d say, my most favorite brand of the shoes I am going to share with you! I love them because they come in many different colors and styles. Furthermore, they have the support you’re looking for and last a long time. Their price range varies, but you can find amazing deals on them at Sam’s Club or a Skechers outlet store. You can, also, get deals on Skechers at certain times through Amazon. I have several pairs of different Skechers shoes and boots for all kinds of weather.

Durability-Excellent
Varied Styles and Colors-Excellent
2. Clarks
You may think of Clarks as being for “old people” because they are noted to be orthopedic. However, they come in many trendy styles and are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn! This is another durable shoe. Not quite as durable as Skechers, but they do last for 2-3 years on average. They are a great choice for school wear, but, also, for flip-flops in the summer. I love that the flip-flops have an adjustable strap on the band near the top of the foot! I have narrower feet and the band helps them to stay on. You can find these shoes at pretty much any shoe store and on Amazon. Watch for sales to get that bargain-price we’re looking for!

3. Solanz
This is a brand that is newer to me. I’ve only just tried them this year and I am very happy with them! I got two pairs of sandals because of the incredible deal! I got two pairs of shoes for under $25 from Shoe Carnival. They had a buy 1, get 1 free sale going on plus I had a coupon, and they have a teacher discount when you purchase them online. You can, also, pick up this brand through other shoe stores. So far, these shoes are holding up well and pass the comfort test. Furthermore, they have that adjustable top of the foot strap along with an adjustable back strap. Tip: Be choosy with this brand. Not all shoes are as comfy as the ones I got.
Price-Excellent
Durability-Fair (only because I’ve had them about 3 months, so idk)
Varied Styles and Colors-Fair
4. Charleston Shoe Company
I’ve had these shoes for a few years now and the elastic band is just starting to get stretched out around the back of my foot. I was lucky enough to hear about their warehouse sale on the radio and my daughter and I went to get shoes one weekend. They were fill a bag for $100. We were able to get about 9 pairs of shoes! The only downside is some of them were not as comfortable as we thought they’d be after trying them on. You can go to the Charleston Shoe Company website to browse or check out Amazon.
Price-Fair (unless you find a great sale!)
Durability-Good
Varied Styles and Colors-Excellent
Conclusion
I’m definitely picky when it comes to shoes! It’s very difficult to find ones that fit my feet correctly and have comfortable arch support. If you have difficulty finding shoes, be sure to check out the brands above. Hopefully, you will find something you love that is comfy, stylish, and won’t break the bank!
Please share in the comments any brands that you’ve found that work for you or if you agree with any of my selections! I look forward to reading them. If you enjoyed this post, be sure to check out Top 10 Teacher Must Haves (Not Supplies)!
