Teacher Appreciation Week may be be over, but why not celebrate all month long! In fact, if you haven’t checked out the contests on We Are Teachers or Bored Teachers, I’d head over there pronto. You have the chance to win some fantastic prizes. Furthermore, did you know there are places that offer teacher discounts all year long? And at some places, all you got to do is ask and you shall receive. How awesome is that?
So to keep the teacher appreciation going, I’m going to share 10 teacher discounts you’ll actually want to use! Be sure to pin this for later! You’ll want to come back to this one, I’m sure.
Teacher Discounts for Apparel
1. Ann Taylor Loft– Teachers get a 15% off discount when you purchase in stores. You just have to show your teacher ID to get the discount at the register. The clothes at Ann Taylor Loft are comfy and stylish. They are suitable to wear at work or at home. Check them out to see if you have a location near you!
2. Shoe Carnival Online-For this discount you have to verify your teacher status through SheerID by signing up for Shoe Perks and going under military & other discounts. When you verify you’ll get an extra 10% off your online purchase on top of whatever sales they already have! Let’s just say I’ve gotten two pairs of shoes for under $20! Shoe Carnival is where you can find one of the most comfiest brands of teacher shoes. Just check out this post, The 4 Most Comfiest Brands of Shoes for Teachers on a Budget.
3. Skechers– Skechers has a 10% off stackable discount when you verify through ID.me. This is an online purchase only discount. Tip: Go to the store and try on shoes to figure out the style and size you want, then go online to make the purchase.
4. North Face– This is one I was unaware of, but may need to take advantage of. They have a 10% discount as well. You can get verified at a store with your teacher ID or online through SheerID. However, you are not able to use the discount at North Face outlet locations.
Teacher Discounts on Food
1. Sam’s Club– If you’re not a current member of Sam’s Club, you qualify for a 60% discount when you register through ID.me. When you have kids, this membership is worth it! For other money saving tips, check out this post, 7 Simple Money Saving Tips for Teachers.
2. HelloFresh– I’ll be honest, this is not a discount I have tried. However, it looks like a good deal for a subscription food service. With this offer, you’ll save 55% off the first box with free shipping and, then, 15% off the next 51 boxes. There are plans available for families up to 6 people.
Teacher Discounts for Technology
1. Verizon Wireless– If you are a Verizon Wireless customer, be sure to take advantage of their teacher discount. With 4 lines and the unlimited welcome plan, you’ll pay just $25 per line. That’s a $5 savings per line.
2. Apple– Get verified when you check out online with education pricing. As you shop, look for the education savings symbol (looks like a graduation cap). That’s how you’ll know if the item qualifies for a discount. Furthermore, you can trade in your old Apple products for credit towards your new product!
Other Teacher Discounts
1. Swan and Dolphin Hotel at Walt Disney World– If you’re planning a vacation to Disney World, this may be an offer to look into. The discount is up to 25% off and staying at the resort comes with a couple extra perks, like early entry and select evening hours. Tip: When planning, be sure to check out the other special offers going on. You may find something even better!
2. South Carolina Aquarium– If you’re a teacher in South Carolina, you can get into the aquarium for free with proof of teacher status. SC teachers can, also, get 15% a regular membership. To use this benefit, email eligibility@scaquarium.com.
Bonus: Ripley’s– During their educator appreciation days, teachers and one guest get in for free with a discount on tickets for the rest of the crew! The link here is specific to Gatlinburg, but you can search to find the educator appreciation days at other locations.
Conclusion
As you can see, there are many businesses that appreciate teachers all year long! Furthermore, it’s wise to find out if your district has a discount directory. Many school districts have secured discounts with other places or are connected to a website that you can sign up for other discounts.
And during Teacher Appreciation Week look out for many other local discounts in your area! FaceBook is a great place to watch for those.
